RED, An American company that manufactures digital cinematography and photography cameras is all set to release a really expensive phone with offers “world’s first holographic media machine”.

It is called “Hydrogen One” which will cost you a whooping $1595. This high end phone features 5.7 inch holographic display which is the main big asset of this phone. This phone is able to seamlessly switch between your traditional 2D content to 3D holographic multi-view content, all thanks to some nanotechnology.

There is no good way to describe it until you see it. “our display is technology you haven’t seen before. It is not lenticular, which is inferior tech in every way, has been tried many times before and failed for good reason – Jim Jannard (RED founder)

This phone will also come in with “Hydrogen 4-View content” which is a file type produced by the company itself which will allows its users to stream holographic games and movies. Talking about the audio department, RED says that it will also use an algorithm to convert stereo sound into “multi-dimensional audio” to add to the immersive experience.

We currently don’t have any information regarding the specs of the phone but all we know currently is that the phone will feature USB – C, microSD slot for expandable storage, Headphone jack and is powered by Android.

Personally, other than the holographic display i m more hyped to see the camera quality on  this phone, as for now we can expect it to be really crispy, as RED’s main business is to make some seriously high-performance camera.

Talking about the availability of the phone, it will ship in early 2018, and it’s currently available for preorder on RED’s website. It starts at $1,195 for the aluminium version, and there’s also a $1,595 variant made out of titanium.

But there is a little twist in the story here that is the design of the phone may change and also after this initial release company will NOT be able to fill all orders on time due to display production limitations. RED will also NOT guarantee these prices at the time of release.
