Samsung is now officially rolling out Android’s latest version Android 7.0 Nougat update to existing Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge handsets.
Users in the UK, US, China, and elsewhere are starting to see the Nougat update appear over-the-air (unlocked devices only). Samsung has added some new features to the update and the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners will also now get access to the new Direct Reply feature for notifications.
Samsung also adds a new feature called performance mode which will help you to activate different modes that optimize phone’s performance and battery life. There is also an “Entertainment mode” included, when you enable it then it tweaks the sound and image quality, and high performance mode makes sure the display is using the best settings possible.
This update will include “Samsung Pass” which will allow the users to log into certain apps and websites with their fingerprint.
So if you have an unlocked device then you will get the update via the air and for locked users currently there is no information from Samsung, also devices locked to Verizon, AT&T, and other carriers will only receive the update once it’s approved by each carrier.
Thanks to XDA-Developers, you can follow there steps and get the update on your device without waiting.
