Samsung teased its Gear S2 in its unpacked event in which company announced its Note 5 & S6 Edge Plus. Samsung at IFA revealed its latest Tizen-powered watch will come in two models: the regular Gear S2 and a Gear S2 classic.
The new Gear S2 Classic has a black finish with a matching leather band, so it’s being positioned to take on high-end Android Wear options like the LG Watch Urbane and the regular Gear S2 will be available in a dark gray case with gray band or in silver with a white band.
Gear S2 features a 1.2-inch circular display has a resolution of 360 x 360 and is surrounded by a rotating bezel. The watch also features NFC for mobile payment and the important part Samsung is promising battery life ranging between two and three days.
Now lets talk about the big disadvantage of the new Gear S2, Thats is the new Gear S2 will not have access to Android Wear’s growing collection of third-party apps. Samsung says it’ll keep you in tune with all of your texts, calendars, emails, breaking news, and fitness goals. Samsung will only say that it’s working with developers to expand the ecosystem of what’s available on Tizen.
Ignoring the big downside, The new Gear S2 looks pretty beautiful, Not only the design the watch faces and the user interface are pretty beautiful as well. The new Gear S2 is defiantly significant improvement over Samsung’s previous Tizen wearables.
Many major carriers including Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile US have already announced plans to sell the Gear S2. But still Samsung has not provided the crucial information like pricing and release date, But we expect that the release date wont be to long we will the new watch soon.
